Not So Long Ago

I will keep teaching

if the paradigm changes

I will keep teaching with the changes

I am calming and reaching

Why am I so happy?

Someday on the other side, I will know

Why does the brain sometimes run an old tape?

It passes by

It changes too

I will keep existing with the changes

Why am I so happy?

I can wait to know

Sometimes still sad – impermanence is a given

I am worth the bow

Sometimes I do it

just for that

Sometimes I am certain

because of that

The child part of me

still imagines

being good, acceptable, and bright

I will keep teaching

If the brain changes

I will keep existing with the changes

Why am I so happy?

Someday on the other side, I will know

  1. You’re right, there’s definitely a similar mood evoked in both poems, and the flow is similar as well. I think we’re on the same wavelength with these two poems πŸ˜‰

    1. I got thinking – I should probably tell you that bow is bow as in toe and not bow as in cow. Not that I would teach people how to bow (cow), but we do that before each lesson, too. I think you read Fiddle Boy, so you might remember… πŸ™‚
