The Other Side of the Moon

My friend

I am your love

my healing is to love you

you are my connected one,

I can love you truly.

Our love merges

you are my beauty;

I can treat you better

than the others will,

go through major upheaval with you

knowing I don’t know you.

You are a stranger

but you are my husband

for 30 years.

A stranger’s hand

on my arm,

a beautiful stranger

processing with yourself —

not me,

not possessing me.

I am the one who has fought

through my anger

to the still waters of the other side

of the moon’s gravitational pull;

I am on the other side of the moon

and it is all light.
